Being the daughter of Eros, Cupid as what filthy mortals calls her father, she, she will be the successor of his billet.
‘Hah, is this what had been destined for me to do so?’ She thought as she folded her arms adjacently into each other, her forehead creased. Well, how can be a heartless goddess be the new matchmaker for those worthless mortal?
She knows, she’s no worthy for that kind of job for she is heartless. She doesn’t even know what love is.
As the news reached her ears; her stomach automatically curled and all her organs danced wildly as a reaction.
“My dear Lachesis, I know you will be able to do it.” Psyche, her mother, cheered her up, trying to change her mood. “You think mother?” She sarcastically replied and took a sip from her silver cup, savouring the bittersweet taste of the wine.
“You know you shouldn’t disobey your father’s order.” She warned and ruffled her daughter’s hair.
“You will be going to be my buddy today. You need to learn how I do things.” Behind her back, it was her father who barged in and spake up.
“You’re not really going to be my buddy, you will be the one who will be going to do the job. It’s your big break, come on---prove thyself young lady.” Her father once again spake.
It was a torture for her, she would be happy if her father would send her into a battlefield. She uses her arrows as a weapon not for matching filthy humans as she says. She’s been joining the training which is being led by the god of War, Ares.
At first, her father disagreed with the decision she had made, joining the training where actually only male demigods and gods are only allowed. She is known as the strongest and fearless female demigod when it comes to war. Everybody knows what she’s capable of, she’s the greatest warrior among warriors. And as if she is the daughter of Ares. So she made it on the training though she’s a young lady.
And this isn’t the first time for her to disobey her parents especially her father. Her father’s strict personality can’t even control or tame her for she’s fearless and she do whatever she wants to.
How can she stop though what her heart’s been shouting out loud? Her heart is in the field of handling war weapons, fighting for survival, not for handling bow and arrows just to be a matchmaker.
“But—”
“No more buts. Now begin!” His authority is overflowing yet wasn’t enough to threaten her nor give her shivers.
Her brows furrowed, her lips curved as she unfold the old book where mortals; name and who were destined for them were written. “How were you able to endure this old malodorous book?” But before Eros could protest, “First on the list today is Adrien.” She’s definitely rude and uncontrollable. And even Zeus can’t handle her or his authority won’t affect her, even Hades couldn’t also threaten her. It was hard for her to read his name though, but on the second thought their names, them, the deities and other part of this Myth world’s names are harder to pronounce.
“There was no bio written here, how can I know that who’s that filthy human?” She retorted and raised one of her brows.
“The bow will automatically glow as soon as the first mortal on your list is somehow near thy location. Be careful, don’t aim the wrong mortal—for as each mortal has its mate destined for them only. Arrows signifies the desires and emotions of love.”
‘Oh, there he is, inside of a mental asylum,’ she thought. The target is in a place for lunatic people, people who lost their sanity. “Then how come the there was no name of his mate written on this old book?” Eros just shrugged his shoulders telling she should figure out what to do. It is her first task from him anyway.
‘Well father, I hope you will be disappointed at me after doing something fun. Well, if you’ll be able to know what it is.’ She spake just inside of her chaotic mind. “Ye shall then love no one, and will just play with girls’ heart for I don’t know what love is. Play with them, make them cry, break them and their foolish hearts, make them a total fool.” She whispered on the arrows as she secretly transferred a little portion of her power going to the arrows and aimed them, “Go, and spread pain not love.” She then again whispered as she released the arrows.
“Be an adequate player, dearest Adrien.”
“That’s my granddaughter.” Aphrodite’s whisper from above reached her ears, she must be really proud of her.
On the next day, her father approached her. “I know, I know, I know. I know what you’ve done. I have eyes anywhere, Zeus is not the only one who acts as a Scary God watching you, rather us. I have eyes anywhere, and the air can be my ears. So I know, I know what you’ve done and what you are doing.” That took her guard off, she was left dumbfounded with a big question mark knocking on her head.
